What is IQ plasma treatment?

Plasma IQ, also known as Plasma Lift or Cold Plasma, is an innovative method for smoothing wrinkled or damaged skin safely and, above all, without surgery. Until recently, the only way to get rid of excess wrinkled skin was through lengthy, sometimes surgical, procedures, but now that's all changed with this latest technology.

It's a different type of energy that uses a targeted microbeam of plasma energy which, through local ionization, enables direct retraction of the treated skin without harming or affecting the surrounding skin. This procedure can give surgical results without the actual need for surgery.

This is an increasingly common and minimal treatment method, which is much faster than surgical solutions and reduces downtime.

How does our anti-aging clinic do it?

Après avoir bien démaquillé et désinfecté la zone, le praticien délimite la zone à traiter et applique une crème anesthésiante pendant 1heure avant le traitement pour éviter toute sensation de brûlure.

Le praticien approche la pointe de l’aiguille de l’appareil Plasma IQ de la peau. Sans contact ni effraction cutanée à 1mm de distance de la peau un flash lumineux se génère, produisant une grande quantité de chaleur limitée au point de tir. Cette chaleur dégagée riche en ions et électrons va provoquer la vaporisation des cellules superficielles de la peau : celles-ci se rétractent immédiatement, et chaque impact de traitement est alors matérialisé par une petite croûte de carbonisation de moins d’un millimètre de diamètre. Le praticien détermine des points de tir précis en fonction de l'indication à traiter Chaque tir dure moins d’une seconde.
Dès que le traitement est terminé, le médecin applique de la glace pour refroidir les paupières puis il désinfecte la peau en tapotant sans retirer les croûtes de carbonisation.

Pre- and Post-Treatment Guidelines

BEFORE: You should always keep your skin moisturized, especially before having a Plasma IQ treatment. Also, avoid the sun as much as possible and always wear sunscreen 30 or higher during the day. Reduce alcohol and tobacco consumption as they can affect the collagen formation process, which can compromise the success of the treatment.

DURING: It should be noted that slight discomfort may be experienced during the operation. There is no need to worry in case this occurs, as it is a normal sensation that depends on the location of the skin targeted for treatment. An anaesthetic cream will be applied to you 1 hour beforehand at the surgery to make the treatment more comfortable.

AFTER: You should avoid exfoliating scabs as this can delay the healing process. In addition, you may need to apply cloth-covered ice packs to the operated area if necessary, avoid putting ice directly on the skin. Do not take anti-inflammatory drugs, as the inflammatory response is a key element in the Plasma IQ treatment process. Clean the area with a warm, damp cloth twice a day until completely healed. Avoid hot showers for 2-3 days after treatment as they can irritate the affected area.

FOLLOW-UP: There are a few small brownish crusts on the treated area which will fall off naturally in 3-7 days. The treatment is very well tolerated and there are no side effects. The only after-effects may be temporary redness or swelling, which disappear spontaneously after 1 to 3 days, depending on the location.

There is no need to avoid social life, as the scabs can be covered up with make-up or sunglasses.
