Acne-prone skin

Acne-prone skin

Deep within your dermis, there are sebaceous glands attached to the implantation of the hair and secrete sebum which is a natural substance that provides hydration to the skin and protects it from bacteria while hydrating and lubricating the hair.

These sebaceous glands can be clogged with impurities sometimes. When that happens, fatty secretions along with dead cells and pimples form and they all become infected.
Once your skin gets clogged and infected a lot of issues and conditions can occur. Let’s mention a few of them:

-Microcysts: When the natural sebum of your skin can no longer flow normally from the sebaceous duct, you’ll notice that a small bump is forming under the skin and the center of it looks like a white dot.

-Black dots: These little unwanted things can measure between 1 and 3 mm. Because of the oxidation of the sebum that is blocking the sebaceous duct in the open air, they get darker and darker until they turn black.

-Papules: Once blackheads suffer enough to turn into inflamed lesions, they get invaded by a certain acne bacteria, Cutibacterium acne. These things can measure between 1 and 4 millimeters, they are often painful and surrounded by a red halo.

-Pustules: When the papule infection goes untreated for an extended period of time and worsens, it turns into a pustule. Pustules are things that are filled with an infected white or yellow fluid, which can either drain or dive deeper and further into the skin. Which eventually causes either nodules or cysts.

-Cystic Acne: This is the worst acne can ever get and it’s so difficult to treat. Attempting to pierce them by yourself is never a good idea and it can leave long-term marks and scars so I wouldn’t advise that.

Acne is an awful disease and it’s not just a teenagers’ nightmare, it affects adults just as much. It can be caused due to a hormonal fluctuation, or because of taking a certain drug, to profuse sweating, or because of the use of a cosmetic product that isn’t suitable for the skin, and of course, poor hygiene can play a huge role in causing acne. Whether you are a teenager or an adult, skin issues can have a huge impact on your life and your overall self-image. So if you were facing any skin condition, no matter how small it was, get it fixed before it’s too late.
